DELLTA partners with a range of organizations and individuals to raise funding and secure donations.
Biennial Shoe Drive
Our advisory committee member Anne Anastasia leads a shoe drive in support of DELLTA. The drive collects gently worn, used, and new shoes, with all proceeds benefiting the Amanda Sapp Parisi Awards for graduating multilingual learners (MLLs), including former MLLs.
In addition to funding scholarships, the shoe drive provides meaningful global impact. Donated shoes are distributed to impoverished communities, helping individuals become micro-entrepreneurs and work toward financial independence. The initiative also supports environmental sustainability by keeping shoes out of landfills, where they can take a century or more to decompose.
The shoe drive runs biennially and serves as an important source of supplemental funding for our scholarship program.
