DELLTA Committees
DELLTA's committees are made up of passionate individuals working together to fulfill DELLTA's goals.
The committees listed below are open to members, and we encourage you to get involved. Joining a committee offers a powerful opportunity to collaborate with dedicated professionals, contribute your expertise, and actively advance DELLTA’s mission to support English learners throughout Delaware.
Advocacy Committee
The advocacy committee participates in advocacy events speaking on behalf of English learners and educators in the state.
Fundraising Committee
This committee shall guide fundraising events, such as activities, raffles, or meetings, that support fundraising used for scholarships.
Awards Committee
This committee is responsible for acquiring award nominations for MLLs from educators, administrators, and counselors in Delaware schools. This committee is chaired by the vice-president.
Membership Committee
This committee shall promote, recruit, and keep records of all members. It is responsible for maintaining membership and attracting new members. This committee is chaired by the treasurer.
Events Committee
This committee shall plan and/or attend DELLTA endorsed or sponsored events to help increase DELLTA visibility in order to promote membership and recognition.
Public Affairs Commitee
This committee shall provide guidance to the Executive Board and membership on matters of public relations, fundraising, legislation, interaction with the Delaware Department of Education, and matters relating to the general public.
What Committee Members Do
Committee members play an essential role in advancing DELLTA’s mission. Members volunteer their time, collaborate with fellow professionals, and participate in scheduled committee meetings to help plan initiatives, support events, and guide the strategic direction of our work. Whether contributing ideas, assisting with projects, or helping strengthen community connections, committee members provide valuable expertise and hands-on support that make a lasting impact.
