"...This year the Equity Summit will be held during the Statewide In-Service Day, October 8th.
There is a tremendous line-up of great presenters, many of whom will include a focus on supporting multilingual, multicultural students across various content areas.
There is also one session that we are hosting that will take a particular focus that is built out in the new WIDA ELD Standards, a genre approach to language instruction. This session will be run by Dr. Ruslana Westerlund and is entitled “Enacting Equity for Multilingual Students Through a Genre Approach.” This is a great session for all who are interested in learning more about how to build disciplinary literacy. The session runs from 10:00-2:45 p.m. and will include time for application and breakout rooms. We encourage you to share this session with educators in your districts/charters."
