Dear DELLTA members,
We are wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2022 and would like to celebrate some great successes from 2021 along with goals for 2022.
In 2021 DELLTA was able to:
Proudly recognize the accomplishments of Delaware's 2021 TOY Kim Stock - Red Clay EL Teacher
Present Amanda Saap Parisi awards to 10 graduating EL students in the state
Receive unprecedented funds through grant writing initiatives
Collaborate with Rodel, DHC, GACEL, DE DOE, and other groups to advocate on behalf of EL students, teachers, funding, training, and much more
Network with JFS - RISE (Refugee Integration Support Effort) and establish connections that will support refugee students coming into the Delaware school system
Restructure our annual membership renewal cycle to align with each school year
Looking ahead & with YOUR support, our goals include:
Continue grant writing with a small team of members
Hold the DELLTA shoe drive to raise money for our organization and support micro entrepreneurs in high poverty countries
Increase the number of shoppers who choose DELLTA to be their Amazon Smile charity of choice

Recognize and present Amanda Saap Parisi awards to graduating EL students for the 2021-2022 school year
Continue with our partnerships and advocacy efforts at all levels
Expand our visibility with our blog and linked social media activity (Facebook and Twitter)
Fill vacant officer positions (secretary and treasurer)
Additionally, we would like to do the following but need more participation and member involvement: Build an end-of-year fundraising campaign for "Giving Tuesday" and corporate tax donations
"Adopt" an EL family for the holidays at the end of the year and furnish them with gifts, food and any other items they may need for their household
Each of us is an advocate for EL students. It is part of who we are and what we do. In order for DELLTA to successfully continue with our efforts and successes, we ask that you try to find a small way to get involved in our organization. Could you collect a bag of 25 pairs of shoes at your school, church, or neighborhood? Would you ask 2 or 3 family members to choose DELLTA for their Amazon Smile charity? Can you nominate a teacher who supports EL students for our educator recognition initiative? Would you like to do a little more? You can help with grants or our website updates. And if you have a little more time, perhaps take on a role as secretary or treasurer. If you have a friend you may be able to hold one of these offices together to split the work. Any amount of time you are willing to offer DELLTA will help us in enormous ways and is even more enormously appreciated by our officers!
