Many Quality DOE EL Resources/Learning Opportunities

Updated: May 11, 2020

Hello, DELLTA members and friends. Please see these helpful resources as shared by Cary K. Thanks for sharing Cary!

Here is the link to the Professional Learning Catalog for the DDOE.  This features opportunities from all content areas and other areas as well like Counseling, World Language, Social-Emotional Health, Driver's Ed, etc.

Take notice of the EL opportunities.  You will find that we have WIDA elearning and other modules for a variety of EL grade levels and subject areas.  All are self paced and carry clock hours in PDMS.  We also have a self-paced Book study on Special Education Considerations for English Language Learners.  We have added two new Schoology group codes to help you access The Delaware Design for High-Quality English Learner Education as well as course work on Considerations for English Learners during the Age of Distance Learning.  New items are being added daily to those as well.

Maria mentioned the WIDA letter from Tim Boales in last night's call.  Here is the direct link to the COVID resources from WIDA and Tim Boals's - WIDA Founder and Director

letter.

Maria also mentioned OELA is offering a webinar to assist English learners with filling out the FAFSA.  Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Join us on May 13 at 2:00 pm ET.

Registration Instructions:  Register for the Go ToWebinar here. In addition, we mentioned the SIOP Meet ups for bringing SIOP to our remote learning. Here is the Padlet with resources.  The far column has the recordings from the previously recorded sessions.
